Stunning black tie wedding ceremony and bridal portraits in historic St Augustine.
Chelsea and Chad had the MOST beautiful wedding ceremony at The Treasury on the Plaza in St Augustine FL. This old bank turned wedding venue is such a popular spot for those couples that love a little history and architecture. There are quite a few little nooks at the Treasury that are perfect for photos. The balcony, for one, is a favorite for first looks. It’s pretty private and has gorgeous light flooding through those giant windows.
Of course, my favorite thing about weddings in St Augustine is walking around those cobblestone streets for portraits. The historical buildings and palm trees are the *perfect* background for wedding portraits. And if you’re lucky (or have a photographer that knows their way around), you can sneak a few photos down some adorable alleyways. It can be hard to avoid tourists on those main streets but those alleyways are all for us!
And can we just take a second to talk about Chelsea’s red nail polish?! I mean, I’m a nude nail girl myself, but once in a while it’s nice to see a bride with a bold nail color. Or shoe color. Or anything really that brings a little uniqueness to the wedding day.
Their wedding ceremony was in the Grand Ballroom of the Treasury on the Plaza. The vaulted ceilings and architectural columns make the space so grandiose. But don’t let the big room fool you, they can also accommodate smaller weddings! Chelsea and Chad included glowing candles and lots of warm, making the ceremony feel intimate and personal.
The wedding was during the St Augustine Night of Lights so we did sneak out after the ceremony to snag some nighttime photos. Sure, sunset photos are glow-y and wonderful, obviously. But night photos can be just as fun! I love taking my couples out for a few minutes to get some night shots, whether it’s around the venue or outside. It gives them a chance to take in the day and spend a moment soaking each other in. And it absolutely shows in the photos. Take it from me, those few minutes my husband and I stepped away from our wedding were very appreciated.
