Stunning views and tropical vibes at this black tie wedding in Ponte Vedra Beach.
This Sawgrass Marriott wedding was full of gorgeous views and tropical vibes. Most of my weddings these days have tropical vibes but I guess it’s hard to avoid when there are palm trees everywhere you look. No complaints from me though, I love being reminded of how tropical Florida is. Rania and Aaron obviously made a stunning bride and groom. Their happiness was just radiating through all of these photos!
First stop, the Sawgrass Marriott for some pre-wedding prep.
The guys got wedding ready at the Sawgrass Marriott, which has hotel rooms and lots of different areas for photos and activities. It’s a large venue so you can be sure that your guests won’t see you before they are supposed to. Each part of the wedding had it’s own location. This is great for those larger, more formal weddings. We were able to get all of our photos undetected by any guests. This gave our photos a really secluded look, which I love. Nothing is more romantic than feeling like you’re the only two people in the world and it’s easier to capture those emotions in photos when you don’t have an audience watching from the sidelines.
For the ceremony, we headed over to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. This historic church, built in the 1800s, is one of the oldest Catholic churches in North Florida. The gothic architecture is almost as impressive as the stained glass windows that line the interior.
The resort grounds are a stunning backdrop for your wedding portraits.
After the ceremony, it was back to the Sawgrass Marriott for formal portraits. There are water elements, secluded walking paths, and stunning greenery throughout the property. The trees were dripping with Spanish moss, which gave these wedding photos a romantic southern feel. And the overcast skies provided for some bright diffused light. I love sunny days but I’ll take overcast at a wedding any day! Overcast just gives the colors in your photos those rich, yummy tones. Not to mention, it gives your skin an incredible glow. Not that y’all need it, you’ll probably have that lovey dovey glow going on. Weddings tend to have that effect on couples :)
The reception was full of romantic elements, including candelabras at the tables. Every wedding has something that leaves me thinking, man that’s cool. This wedding’s cool element was the traditional Arabic cake cutting sword! I didn’t even know cutting the cake with a sword was a thing but apparently, it’s a common wedding tradition. This was the first time I was seeing this but it would be pretty cool if my couples started bring this one back. I mean, how many opportunities do we have to use swords in our lives, I mean really?
Sharing a few of my faves from this gorgeous wedding here because, well this is a blog and that’s what I do…
