Engagement photos at a tropical paradise, garden, and beach all rolled into one fabulous location.

 

If you’re looking for a gorgeous location for engagement photos, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is it. From trees, to garden, to beach, it really has something for everyone. I’m a beach gal myself, but those oaks…wow. I don’t remember seeing so many oaks when I lived in Florida years ago but they are everywhere in Jacksonville and I’m not complaining!

 

Top 3 reasons to take your engagement photos at Washington Oaks:

 

1. You’ll get a variety of different photos in the finished gallery. Even if you don’t bring a change of clothes, you’ll have tons of photos to choose from that don’t necessarily look like they were all taken in the same place. Score!
2. It’s such a large park that you don’t really have to compete for secluded areas to take those romantic photos (that you’ll undoubtedly want to blow up and hang in your bedroom). It’s a different vibe than if you were to go downtown for a taco eating photo session (which, btw, I am totally down for if that’s your thing…tacos give me life).
3. You can pack a picnic to enjoy for when we’re done with the photos. Eating is obviously awesome but when you pair that with being in nature? Yes. And if it were me, I’d head over to the beach to listen to those waves because let’s face it, we’re all stressed and water is somehow the therapy we all need.

 

This particular session with Ashley and Chase was on a Monday evening. And I know we’ve been having weird weather (thanks, Florida) but the weather was actually quite perfect. Like sensory deprivation tank perfect.

Of course Ashley looked stunning in that purple Dalliance Bespoke dress. The pearl detail on that thing! I was obsessed. Those babies were hand-sewn and the detail was just *chef’s kiss*. Ashley and Chase were obviously gorg- and 100 per cent living in the moment. They are already married but I later learned that they had never had engagement photos done so this shoot was extra special.
