I only met Emily and Ryan a week before their wedding but had already been looking forward to shooting it. Months earlier, Emily had described a unique and simple wedding and after learning that it would be in The W Loft in Williamsburg, I couldn’t wait to see how it would come together. The rooftop of The W Loft is gorgeous and even having known Emily and Ryan very briefly, this seemed to fit their personalities. We started the day across the East River in Emily’s parents’ home where she was getting ready.
Emily wore a flowing Jenny Yoo dress with an Elle & Jae lace cover-up. Her Steve Madden shoes were just the right pop of color.
We took some portraits in front of the mural by what’s left of the Domino Sugar Factory.
After the ceremony, instead of a receiving line, Emily and Ryan had this amazing idea to have the entire wedding parade down the streets from the church back to The W Loft while a bagpiper led the way.
Back at The W Loft, Saucy by Nature had a delicious looking spread of cheese set out. It took everything in me not to shovel this whole plate of cheese into my mouth when no one was looking… Instead of a sit-down dinner, they had a “floating supper” which served this crowd well since everyone was on their feet the entire night moving from the loft to the roof, mingling and dancing.
Emily and Ryan- I hope you had the best time on your honeymoon! Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding.
