Intimate Backyard Wedding in Winter Springs, FL

Intimate and unique storybook wedding with personal DIY touches among flower gardens and wild orange blossoms.

I wish I could put into words how much I love intimate weddings. They are perfection in my eyes. This intimate backyard wedding in Winter Springs, FL was full of gorgeous little touches that made Heather and Kyle’s day so unique. They basically transformed Heather’s grandfather’s property into a storybook wonderland and I am obsessed with these details! Their family members each made an element of their wedding, making this already intimate affair so much more personal. Sure, I love a big wedding every now and then but intimate weddings (or “micro weddings” as the kids are saying these days) are such a treat!

This backyard wedding in Winter Springs, FL was a storybook dream.

The ceremony space had only 35 chairs and an impressive round flower arch. During the ceremony, Heather and Kyle released butterflies, which didn’t stray far. And why would they? There were delicious smelling flowers right under their little butterfly noses. Those butterflies stuck around for the whole ceremony and what a BEAUTIFUL ceremony! When you only invite your closest and dearest friends and family, you truly get to celebrate with each and every person. Amazing.

After the ceremony, Heather and Kyle spent a few minutes alone, which I highly recommend. (Side note, those few moments right after you are married are so special and you should take the time to enjoy them!) When they were ready, we headed to the orange trees for some portraits. Those were probably my faves from the whole day. Orange trees have such a southern charm and how lucky were we that they were all over the backyard for our creative convenience?

The day concluded with a sweet reception that continued on into the night. Another perk of having an intimate backyard wedding: no one can kick you out after hours. The party can literally go on for as long as you want!
